Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) is a common assisted reproductive technique (ART). During IUI, sperm is collected and then directly inserted into a woman's uterus around the time of ovulation, which helps increase the number of sperm that reach the egg.
Ovarian Stimulation : In many cases, the woman is given fertility medications to stimulate ovulation.
Sperm Preparation : Sperm is washed and concentrated in the lab to increase the chances of fertilization.
Insemination : The sperm is placed directly into the uterus using a thin tube (catheter).
Unexplained infertility
Low sperm count or poor sperm motility
Mild endometriosis
Cervical issues (like hostile cervical mucus)
Success Rates: The success rate of IUI can vary based on factors such as age, the reason for infertility, and whether fertility medications are used.
